Overview

In loving memory of his wife Manjari, son Srikiran (7 years) and daughter Sarada ( 4 years), who were killed in the Air India disaster on June 23, 1985, Dr. Chandrasekhar Sankurathri established Manjari Sankurathri Memorial Foundation (MSMF) in Canada, in 1989. The Foundation, a registered charity, has taken the mandate to promote rural community development through education, health care and disaster relief programs.

MSMF is governed by an elected volunteer Board of Directors. The Officers of the Foundation are President, Vice-presidents, Secretary, Treasurer and Executive Director. The Executive Director, with support from the Executive Committee, manages the Foundation in accordance with policies, programs, and budgets approved by the Board.

Since inception, MSMF has been working with Sankurathri Foundation, an NGO in India, also established by Dr. Sankurathri, in developing SF's Education, Health Care, and Disaster Relief Programs.
